This is a wonderful compilation of indi food. Thanks! 

 One can add a slice of lime at the cooker base to get a fresher aroma. 

BTW.....The lemon slice is added to the base of the cooker which has water (that  allows the formation of steam inside the cooker to cook the contents) to prevent the cooker's base in turning black. You can add tamarind or kokum if you dont have lemons. The effect will be same.

i haven't heard of most of the items here.
but my comfort food will not involve cooking, as most of the comfort is lost at that stage for me. hehehehehe.

You are making me feel my childhood,these were many of the food we ate in my aunts home,and some of it at our place also.....

Now some of them we make it as a part of  nostalgia...but without much demand.
