Hi Sandeep,
Yea, i have done some trekking in Pune - all the 'gadhs', Rajgadh, Sinhagad, Torna, etc. Supposedly, Harishchandragadh is the most difficult. Has a vertical ledge at the top, that one needs to traverse in a horizontal line. Haven't done that yet.

Ya, writing is a whole different hobby - very creative, but I prefer outdoor activities at times too.
The camera is ordinary - Canon A560. I was kinda hoping to get a closeup of the apples on the tree, but didn't happen as we were in the (moving) car!
Thanks for ur comment. Haven't seen any new blogs from u lately?

hi kalyanee,
nice write-up on your trekking trip. here in pune too, people love going on treks in the surrounding hills. in fact the company where i work also organises weekend treks for employees. i've never gone on any, though. guess i am a loner who prefers writing in solitude on weekends.
the pics are great, yaar. which camera?
regards,
sandeep

Vijaianand,
Cardigan is also ~ 3 hrs drive from Boston......and White Mountains is even further up....

I didn't know there is big hike or mountain trail in Texax. May be I need to research more. If there is, we need to drive atleast 2-3 hours to get there instead of 1-2hour from anywhere in Boston.

Tubing seems like fun......havn't done it yet....but water sports r always exciting.

Actually we went to New Braunfels last weekend for Tubing in Comal river. It was a blast.

I guess food is very important while hiking. I learnt in my hiking experience. If you don't heat well, you end up tire and can't move a bit. So I am glad you guys were atleast planned to have some of your food items to replace that provide in the camp. Its almost meet the American needs not for us..

Vijai,
I thought dat San Antonio, Guadalupe and some other places r gr8 for hiking as well......
we haven't done Mt. Washington yet......local sources told us dat trek requires some more prep....we were told dat Cardigan is a difficult hike and then one level up is Washington......will prob'ly do dat trek sometime in Fall.
Yup, and will keep Monadonock in mind next time we go hiking....thanks for the tips. BTW, we had our own 'energy foods' wid us as that food was kind of unpalatable for me, being very bland.....actually, more than food, water is crucial, IMO. I did the climbing without really eating much, not having been able to relish the breakfast!
